Swati is a student in the MBA Class of 2020. Prior to HBS, she worked in the Oil and Gas sector for seven years at Transocean in US, Norway and South East Asia region. She held positions in Rig Asset Management and Global Supply Chain Management in upstream. In the summer of 2019, she worked as summer consultant at BCG, Houston. Swati graduated from Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) with B.Tech in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering and a minor in Social Entrepreneurship. She grew up in the city of lakes Bhopal, India.
CFO - Ian Tang
Ian is a student in the MBA Class of 2020. Prior to HBS, he worked at Shell in Norway as a Flow Assurance Engineer focused on optimizing and improving production, HSSE, and operations for key deep-water platforms. He previously held roles in Asia Pacific as an engineer focused on delivering robust technical solutions for challenging deepwater projects. In the summer of 2019, he worked as a summer associate at Mckinsey Houston. Ian graduated First class honors with Distinction from the University of Cambridge (UK) with MA and MEng in Chemical Engineering. He grew up in Kuching, Malaysia.
Symposium Co-Chair - Nathan Nemon
Nathan is a student in the MBA Class of 2020. He is passionate about the energy and transportation sectors and will continue to work on the adoption and proliferation of innovative, sustainable technology. Before HBS, Nathan worked at Tesla in the Bay Area primarily on the residential energy business and at Accenture Strategy in NYC advising utilities. In the summer of 2019, he worked as a Commercialization and Innovation Intern at Energy Impact Partners. Nathan graduated from Northwestern University (WCAS ‘13) with a B.A. in Environmental Sciences (Science Track) and Economics. He grew up in Ann Arbor, MI.
VP of Business Development - Taylor Leyden
Taylor is a student in the MBA Class of 2020. Prior to HBS, she worked for five years in the solar industry, most recently at Sol Systems, a solar finance and development company focused on commercial- and utility-scale projects. She led Sol Systems’ entry into several domestic markets and worked to negotiate and close solar power purchase agreement projects with schools, municipal utilities, and corporations across the United States. She graduated with a B.A. from Princeton University, where she researched and recommended ways for the school to lower its carbon footprint.
VP of Community - Alex Eidson
Alex is a student in the MBA Class of 2020. Prior to HBS, Alex was an analyst at Encourage Capital, an impact investing firm in New York. While at Encourage, he focused on investment opportunities related to the growing supply-demand imbalance of water in the US, including opportunities in farming, ranching, and municipal water management. During this past summer Alex worked with Calpine, an IPP based in Houston, on renewable energy development. Alex graduated from Cornell University with a B.A. in Economics and Sociology.
VP of Innovation - Reggie Smith
Reggie Smith is a student in the MBA Class of 2020. Prior to HBS he worked at Johnson Controls where he developed large energy conservation and solar projects. Most recently, he led the development engineering for an energy storage start-up business within the company. He spent the Summer of 2019 at Marathon Capital and Eventide Asset Management doing investment banking in clean energy and investing in clean energy-related companies, respectively. Reggie graduated summa cum laude with a B.S./M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University. He grew up in Philadelphia and enjoys studying the weather.
VP of Oil & Gas - Laura Pareja-Restrepo
Laura Pareja-Restrepo is a student in the MBA Class of 2020. Prior to HBS, Laura was chief of staff to the CEO at Ecopetrol, Colombia’s national oil company, where she worked with teams and projects across the company’s upstream, midstream and downstream segments. In the summer of 2019, Laura worked at Goldman Sachs in Houston in the Investment Banking / Natural Resources Group. She holds a B.S. in Economics from Universidad de los Andes and a M.S. in Economics from the same university.
