Alona is a student in the MBA Class of 2019 at Harvard Business School. Prior to HBS, Alona was a consultant at the Houston office of the Boston Consulting Group, where she focused in the Energy Practice and worked with Oil & Gas, Power & Utilities, and Renewable Energy Clients. Alona spent the Summer of 2018 working on energy storage business development at NextEra Energy, the largest renewable energy company in the world. Alona is very passionate about the energy sector, and hopes to focus her career on helping the world transition to sustainable energy sources. She holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Rice University.
Symposium Co-Chair - Jonathon McCarthy
Jonathon is a student in the MBA Class of 2019 at HBS. Prior to HBS, Jonathon held executive and operational roles with listed natural resource firms in Australia, Canada and Mongolia. Jonathon has also worked on several public panels focused on sustainability issues in extractive industries with focus on land use, solar PV installations and water use in arid regions. He is passionate about the sustainability of the metals supply chain and its role in bringing online significant electric vehicle fleets and green energy solutions. He holds degrees in Engineering and Business Economics from the University of Queensland, Australia.
VP Innovation - Danny Marquez
Danny is a student in the MBA Class of 2019 at Harvard Business School. Prior to HBS, Danny worked at BHP Billiton Petroleum in various engineering and operations positions. He also spent a year developing a CNG transportation and power generation project in Chad. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University.
VP Careers - Zander Sebenius
Zander is a student in the MBA Class of 2019 at Harvard Business School. Prior to HBS, Zander worked at Tesla/SolarCity as a Strategy and Analytics Manager, most recently running one of their largest customer acquisitions channels, and previously performing market research for new product launches and entry into international markets. Prior to Tesla/SolarCity, Zander worked in Flex’s Corporate Strategy Group, participating in new product introduction, procurement optimization, and Flex’s entry into a new type of segment of renewable technology. Zander graduated from Harvard College with a degree in Environmental Engineering.
VP Marketing - Matt Severson
Matt is currently an MBA candidate at the Harvard Business School. He was previously on the Business Development team at X: The Moonshot Factory and the Business Development team at Google. He has led partnerships for some of X’s and Google's most exciting new business ideas such as Google Helpouts, Project Loon (access), Project Malta (energy storage), Project Horizon (clean energy), and Google Cultural Institute. Matt also founded The School Fund, an international education nonprofit that crowd-funds secondary school student scholarships throughout the developing world. Matt's work with The School Fund has been featured in Fast Company, The Christian Science Monitor, The Huffington Post, Good Magazine and was recognized by President Clinton at the annual Clinton Global Initiative University meeting.
VP Oil & Gas - Andrew Judge
Andrew Judge is a member of the Harvard Business School Class of 2019. Andrew worked over six years as an upstream petroleum engineer for ExxonMobil where he most recently served as a High Value Initiatives Coordinator supporting the XTO executive team. Prior to HBS, he completed an extended six-month pre-MBA internship at Jefferies focused on oil and gas M&A and returned to Jefferies for his 2018 summer internship. Andrew holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
